  • Actually, he's up for reelection in 2012. He was reelected in 2000 (at the same time that he ran for VP), and then lost in the Democratic primary in 2006, but was elected as an Independent (caucusing with the Democrats) in 2006. So he's up again in 2012.

  • Debster, not every woman even likes kids. So what's with the "all a woman has to do". You're assuming that she's a stay-at-home mom. Maybe she is. But just because she's suited to care for her own children, does not mean she's suited to care for another person's children.

  • Greg, I'm an attorney, as is my hubster. He also has a PhD, so he was in school on a nearly constant basis for a very long time.

  • I've always lived way below my means, too. My husband, too. I have to constantly remind him we're not in grad school anymore, so we can afford to live a little larger, but I do enjoy being frugal. Just not as frugal as he seems to want to be. LOL!

  • Yeah, you don't really see any evidence of the recession around here. Bars, restaurants, Starbucks...all as busy as ever.

  • I don't even know where the nearest Wal-Mart is. I think it's like a 20-minute drive away. It might be moderately less expensive than Target (and I'm not sure I even believe that), but it's a horrendous shopping experience. Dirty, crowded aisles, and just generally unpleasant.

  • OklahomaMom...you're aware that Obama won the upper-middle class and alleged "rich" vote, as well as the college-educated vote, right? (Ie., many, many of those who make more than $250,000/yr voted against our financial interests because we put country first.)
